Built-in roll feeder and trimming knife

The Roll feeder built into the Silhouette Cameo 4 cutting plotter allows you work with rolled
materials.

The built-in lengthwise cutting knife allows you to trim the material after cutting. To cut the
material, you need to unlock the knife and slide it smoothly along the back of the plotter, along the
guide. The trimming knife is shaped like a cartridge that can be easily removed or replaced.

Optical sensor for contour cutting using marks

The built-in optical sensor in the Silhouette Cameo 4 cutting plotter will allow you to contour cut on
marks of self-adhesive labels or stickers, or other products printed on design paper or cardboard.

Attention: The optical sensor in the Silhouette Cameo 4 and Portrait 3 series cutting plotters may not
be able to read the registration marks when working with glossy materials. Glossy materials reflect
light and “dazzle” the optical sensor. We recommend sticking squares of transparent matte film onto
the marks on the material to solve this problem. Graphtec CE7000 series professional cutting
plotters have a special mode for reading registration marks on glossy materials.

The basic free version of Silhouette Studio (Basic Edition) does not allow you to import CDR and AI
vector files (CorelDRAW and Adobe Illustrator) into the program. You can save vector files created in
CorelDRAW and Adobe Illustrator in DXF format and then import them into Silhouette Studio.

The Silhouette Studio software supports PRINT & CUT mode using optical marks. You can first print
the image on paper or self-adhesive film by any printing method (offset or silk screen printing, digital
laser or inkjet printing), and then cut out the printed image following the contour.
